Nahum Jacob Ondangan

The person behind the code

My Story

I'm Nahum Jacob Ondangan — an I.T. and full-stack developer who enjoys building cool things for the web. I got into tech out of curiosity, messing around with stuff just to see how it worked. Now I get to do the same thing — but with slightly fewer broken computers.

I’m based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and I work mostly with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js. My focus is on writing clean, efficient code and creating websites that feel smooth, modern, and actually enjoyable to use.

When I’m not coding, I’m probably deep in a game, lost in YouTube rabbit holes, or convincing myself that “resting” counts as productivity.

My Philosophy

I believe great software isn’t just about clean code or flashy tech — it’s about actually helping people. If a feature doesn’t make someone’s life easier, faster, or a little less annoying, then what’s the point? My goal is to build things that look good, work well, and don’t make users want to throw their devices.

"The best code doesn’t just run — it behaves itself in production (most of the time)."

What I’m Up to Right Now

Right now, I’m in full grind mode — designing, building, and occasionally questioning my life choices (in a good way). I’ve got four major side projects on the horizon, each one pushing me to design smarter and build cleaner. My main focus at the moment? Project Echo — a Spotify-like music app that’s all about streaming, sharing, and discovering sound in style.

  • Deep into planning and designing Project Echo (Codename: Reverb) — a modern music app built for both musicians and listeners. Think playlists, discovery feeds, and maybe a few spontaneous dance breaks.
  • Mapping out the visual identity and UI flow — making sure every pixel feels as smooth as a perfectly mixed track.
  • Simultaneously revisiting old projects and giving them the ultimate 2025 glow-up — better design, cleaner code, and zero “why did I do that?” moments (hopefully).
  • Rebuilding my oldest projects from scratch, like a digital archaeologist fixing his past work — only this time, armed with Tailwind, better UI taste, and caffeine-fueled determination.
  • Balancing all of that with ongoing design work — app screens, enterprise dashboards, concept prototypes — if it needs a layout, I’m probably sketching it somewhere in Figma right now.

TL;DR: I’m in my “build everything and make it beautiful” era. From designing Project Echo to refining every corner of my portfolio, it’s all about leveling up, experimenting, and having fun doing it — one late-night design session at a time.
